In late February and early March each year, thousands of Snow Geese, Chen caerulescens, gather at the Middle Creek Wildlife Management Area in Pennsylvania to feed in the outlying corn fields and prepare for the long flight to their nesting grounds on the Arctic tundra in Northern part of Canada. This year the water was still frozen in late March. This scene appeared as the sun was rising
